9 July - Wear a cape to school day!

On Thursday 9th July, Spyne’s house are excited to invite all children to take part in our wear a cape to school day!

We would like all children, whether they are learning from home or in school to wear a cape or dress up as a superhero on this day! This will raise money for our house charity, George and the Giant Pledge. George’s family pledged to raise £1,000,000 to beat childhood cancer and believe that ‘no child should ever have to have their childhood taken from them in this terrible way.’  These children are superheroes!

What you need to do:

Take a picture of yourself wearing your cape (if you don’t have a cape don’t worry you can dress up as a superhero!) send it to Parents, you are more than welcome and encouraged to join in!

If you wish to take part, please donate as much or as little as you can to their donation page found at:

We are lucky enough to have a team member from George and the Giant pledge join us to sell capes on Tuesday 7th July. If you wish to have a special ‘George and the Giant Pledge’ cape they will be available from 2.30pm- 3.30pm to buy in the top part of the playground (in front of the ‘stage’ gate but away from the bike shed) on the way out of school (card/contactless payments only. No cash will be accepted). If you would like to pre-order a cape please make a £10 donation and state your cape size in the comments part of the page, these will be available to be collected from the same area on Tuesday 7th. Please keep your children with you and ensure that you socially distance if a queue forms

All money raised will be donated to the children’s team at The Royal Marsden Hospital to help fund much needed research into children’s cancer as well as help the team continue the outstanding work they’re doing for children and families affected by cancer.

On behalf of everyone in Spynes House, we would like to thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing photos of everyone!
