Do all animals have a backbone?

On Wednesday 8th November, Year 3 were introduced to some amazing creatures belonging to ‘The Arc’.  They touched the shell of a giant African snail and felt the smooth body of an enormous African millipede. A beautiful tortoise lumbered past the children and a female meerkat and her offspring climbed on some children’s laps. This amazing opportunity for the children to meet such unusual animals was linked to their Science learning about skeletons and a key question, ‘Do all animals have a backbone?’
